As part of the ThaiGer Supporters’ long-standing commitment to the Mercy Center, we hosted a Sponsor Day at the Romklao Preschool in Klong Toey this week. The goal was to give our valued sponsors and partners the opportunity to experience the project firsthand: meeting the joyful children, speaking with the dedicated staff, and seeing exactly where their contributions make an impact.

For more than 15 years, the ThaiGer Supporters have focused their efforts onRomklao Preschool. As John Vogel explained during the visit, the funds raised at the annual ThaiGers football tournaments – on average around 500,000 THB – are enough to cover half a year of operations for the school. This includes building maintenance, daily meals, and essential care for approximately 50 children.

“The long-standing collaboration and the support from our sponsors – whether through financial contributions or in-kind donations for our tournaments – means a great deal to us,” said Christian Treitel (ThaiGers) during the visit.

We were delighted to welcome several long-term supporters who joined us to see the school in action, including Harry Kofi Brako Quakyi from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jean-Claude Ray from the Embassy of Switzerland, Andreas Sumper from the Austrian Embassy, as well as Mathusorn Wangchaitham and Chutima Sae-ear from Bumrungrad Hospital, and Frederic Constant from Santa Fe Relocation. Their presence highlighted the shared commitment and community spirit that drive this project forward.

The laughter of the children, the warmth of the teachers, and the meaningful conversations throughout the visit made one thing unmistakably clear: supporting Romklao Preschool is an investment in a place that truly matters. A place where every contribution directly strengthens the daily lives of children growing up in Klong Toey.

The next ThaiGers Tournament will take place on 24 January 2026 on the grounds of the RIS Swiss Section – Deutschsprachige Schule Bangkok.
